The first two reels I heard from Denis McMahon a great fiddle player from Kerry at a session in Crowley’s Bar in Kenmare. The first reel is also called “A Letter From Home” and can be found O’Neill (Waifs and Strays of Gaelic Melody), 1922; No. 213 and in O'Neill's "Music of Ireland", no. 1279. The second reel "All in the Bag" is one of a tune family including "The Mountain Top" (CRE1 93), "Dillon Brown" (DMI 527), "Miss Johnson" (CRE2 188), etc. The third reel "McFadden's Own Reel" (DMI 558), probably composed by Mayo fiddler, and O'Neill source, John McFadden . O'Neill (Krassen), 1976; pg. 113. O'Neill (Music of Ireland: 1850 Melodies), 1903/1979: No. 1293, pg. 243. O'Neill (Dance Music of Ireland: 1001 Gems), 1907/1986; No. 558, pg. 103.
